Visit the protected natural area and its overlooking tower near Isola Verde Camping Nettuno Rome
Regional nature reserve of Tor Caldara is located in the Anzio commune nearby Isola Verde Camping Nettuno Rome, it is a protected natural area created in 1988.
Like other towers rising on the coast of the Lazio region, it was built around mid-16th century, but Tor Caldara looks like it has been built before the others to defend the Sulphur mines located in the land stretching at the back of it.
The first circular tower built was higher than the one we see today; the damage was caused by historic events.
