Lavinium Museum

Isola Verde Camping Village is 32 minutes away from the Archeological Lavinium Museum

The civic archeological Lavinium museum is located in Pratica di Mare, an area of Pomezia, near the old town of Lavinio and Isola Verde Camping Nettuno Rome. It was open in 2005 as a permanent exhibition under the name “Hic Domus Aeneae”.

The museum presents a collection of many findings from the archeological digs in the old city of Lavinium. A systematic exploration of the area had been started and directed by Professor Ferdinando Castagnoli in 1958 and continued over the next decades.

The research has enabled to recall the vicissitudes of the city funded by Aeneas and known as “mother of Rome”, the religious Civitas of the Latin populations.
